Bringing Nature Home: A Better Habitat for Small Pets.

Pets are an important part of our lives. They are considered to be part of our family and we care about them very much. We try to give them the most comfortable life possible and take care of them when they are ill. We buy tasty food and fun toys to spoil them.

Large pets are allowed to run around freely, while small animals often have their own enclosure in which they live. But this last thing, I find strange. It has long been clear that we humans have lost our connection with nature. In animals, however, this seems to be less. They need to be outside or be surrounded by natural materials. So why do we put small pets, like guinea pigs, in a cage? In a plastic container with metal bars. In this project I looked for an alternative for my guinea pigs Simba and Bennie.

I wanted to give them a space in which, as part of my family, they can be surrounded by natural materials so that they can feel comfortable and carry out their natural behavior, namely gnawing.
